Metro Meals on Wheels is looking for a few volunteers to help with their cocktail party fundraiser, Meals on Heels. If you enjoy a good party, this is your opportunity help make this fundraiser a great success. The evening provides fun, food and fashion for donors while spreading the word about the important work of Meals on Wheels.

Local restaurants will be serving drinks and providing food tastings from their menus. The evening also includes the Swank Soles Competition and a raffle. The night will be hosted by Sarah Edwards who, along with KDWB’s Dave Ryan, will also be judging the Swank Soles Competition. All proceeds will go to Metro Meals on Wheels.

Making Life Better for Others

Meals on Wheels is a food program that brings hot meals to elderly and disabled individuals who are unable to leave their homes and for those who cannot prepare nutritious meals for themselves. This program delivers over 1 million meals each year to community residents. Metro Meals on Wheels includes 32 Meals on Wheels programs in the Twin Cities Metro Area.

Many of the recipients of Meals on Wheels look forward to seeing the volunteers who deliver their meals. Not only do these individuals receive a nutritious meal, for some it is their main source of social interaction during their week. Meals on Wheels enables many elderly and disabled people to continue to live independently.
